Updated 2020 Rocket Mortgage Odds: Bryson DeChambeau the Betting Favorite at Detroit Golf Club

The PGA TOUR heads to MoTown for this weekend's Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club.

Golf bettors will remember this tournament because last year's winner, Nate Lashley, was an alternate entry, so he wasn't even listed in the pre-tournament odds or in any DFS markets.

Lashley, who is on the board at +15000 this week ($10 bet wins $1,500), ran away from the field with a 25-under but he wasn't the only longshot on the leaderboard. Doc Redman, Rory Sabbatini, Wes Roach and Cameron Tringale rounded out the top-five in Detroit last year and, with all due respect to that crew, I wouldn't exactly label it a murderers' row.

The PGA TOUR's fields have been elite since resuming play earlier this month, but the Rocket Mortgage Classic entry list is a bit of a drop-in-class. That is why it isn't surprising to see Bryson DeChambeau with such short odds at Detroit Golf Club. The 26-year-old has opened at +600 ($10 bet wins $60) and is the only player with single-digit odds.

Webb Simpson, who withdrew last week after his victory at Harbour Town, is the second choice at +1100, with Patrick Reed (+1400) and Tyrrell Hatton (+1500) checking in right behind him.

This will be Reed's fourth consecutive start after going T7-MC-T24 in between The Charles Schwab Challenge and The Travelers.

This will be Hatton's second start since the restart, but the Englishman showed no rust in his first go-round, finishing T3 at Harbour Town.

As you'd expect the in-form Viktor Hovland's (+2200) price has shortened considerably in this weaker field. The 22-year-old Norwegian has been in fine form since the TOUR returned, finishing inside the top-25 at Colonial and Harbour Town before his T11 at TPC River Highlands. You can expect Hovland to be a popular pick in betting and DFS this week.

Hovland, who finished third at The Travelers in Strokes Gained: Approach, is sitting in the same range as Tony Finau (+2200), Hideki Matsuyama (+2200) and Sungjae Im (+2500). Rickie Fowler, who has missed the cut in both of his starts since the TOUR resumed play, is at +3000.

Things start to look pretty weird after Fowler, with a gaggle of golfers who are usually closer to 100-1 hanging out in between +3000 and +6000. Lucas Glover, who was 150-1 for The Travelers, is as low as +4500 (DraftKings) while Kevin Na is down to 40-1 at PointsBet after he was priced at 125-1 last week.

Perhaps nobody's odds shifted more week-to-week than Doc Redman, who moved from 200-1 down to 50-1. Redman, who finished second at this event last season, is coming off a T11 finish at The Travelers and has made all three cuts since the TOUR came back.

A couple of other notable golfers in this range are Jason Day (+5000), Brandt Snedeker (+6600), Harold Varner III (+6600) and the 54-hole leader at The Travelers, Brendon Todd (+7000).
