Paul Shapiro
Paul Shapiro is a senior editor for Better Collective and The Action Network. He started his career writing about sports betting and fantasy sports more than 10 years ago and has been published on RotoWire, MLB.com, RotoExperts, New York Daily News, SportsGrid, The Game Day, Field Level Media, Newsday, and more.
In his role as a senior editor, Paul creates daily news articles related to the sports betting industry and its new user sign-up offers. He helps manage the content across Better Collective's portfolio with a focus on SEO and commercial content.
He began his career in U.S. sports betting in 2018, shortly after PASPA was overturned, launching The Duel as a joint venture between Minute Media and FanDuel. As the managing editor there, he oversaw the site's editorial team and strategy as one of the first content ventures in the U.S. sports betting vertical. He then went to BetMGM where he managed the gaming content team for the company's website and mobile app, specifically focusing on BetMGM's casino, poker, and sportsbook products.
At Gambling.com Group, Paul was the first editor hired on the SEO team following the company's acquisition of RotoWire. Serving as a senior editor for commercial content, he helped increase traffic to the site while driving conversions to its many sportsbook partners including BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, bet365, and Caesars Sportsbook.
In 2024, he joined Action as a Senior Editor for SEO Commercial Content, where he hopes his many years of writing, editing, and SEO experience help the company grow and thrive in the sports betting vertical for years to come.
Paul graduated Boston University with a degree in journalism. He played centerfield for the Boston University baseball team and was an on-air talent on BU's radio station, WTBU.
