Pete Ruden

Pete helps manage The Action Network's college football and college basketball content. Before starting as an editor, he worked as a contributor at Action, covering college football and sports betting legalization news. Pete will always be tricked into thinking Iowa will win the Big Ten West and betting the Indianapolis Colts to win the Super Bowl.

Pete is an Associate Editor at The Action Network, helping to manage the college football and college basketball verticals. Before joining Action, he served as a freelance sports reporter for Sports Illustrated's HawkeyeMaven, Rivals' HawkeyeReport, and the Cedar Rapids Gazette. Pete was then brought in as an editor at The Action Network — his dream company — and is in the midst of his second college football and college basketball seasons.

Pete graduated from the University of Iowa in 2020 with majors in journalism and sports studies. While in college, he worked as a sports editor, football editor, and sports reporter for The Daily Iowan, the independent student newspaper at Iowa.
