Summary

Raheem graduated from the Wharton School of Business in 2008 and is from the city where they eat cheesesteaks, boo Beyonce and throw snowballs at Santa. Loves corner threes, high PNRs, RPOs and pick plays. Despises contested mid-range jumpers and teams who “establish the run."

He spent much of his life as a DJ and a producer going by the name of DJ R to Da IZZA, spinning in nightclubs all over the country featuring celebrities such as Allen Iverson, Raekwon the Chef, Jill Scott, Terrence J, Kevin Hart, Questlove and more. He was also a marketing specialist at Roc Nation and graphic designer before becoming a professional sports gambler, building models to find and capitalize on the inefficiencies within betting markets. He's been a mission to #DefundTheBookies since 2009.

Experience

I started betting sports in 2009 as a hobby when Delaware Park was allowed to offer parlay betting on NFL games. Although placing parlay bets is fun and you could obtain an edge by betting the stale numbers on parlay cards, I quickly recognized that parlays were difficult to beat and started betting single games off shore and with local bookies.

Although I spent most of my life as a creative, I went back to everything I learned at Wharton and used that to build my own models. At some point I started to find more success betting than I did in the entertainment industry and I made the leap and never looked back. When the pandemic hit and Action was looking for NBA writers in the bubble, I decided I wanted to share my work with the world.

Education

Raheem studied marketing at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, however he also took statistics 101 and 102 which is the foundation for his emergence into sports betting.

Betting Highlights
Favorite Bet of All-Time
Too many to count: Here are my favorite two: 1. I had 75% of my net worth on the Toronto Raptors to come back and beat the Milwaukee Bucks after going down 0-2. I believed they were the better team but they blew a huge lead in Game 1, gassing out after a grueling seven-game series against the Philadelphia 76ers. I took the Raptors +600 to win the series before Game 3, took them 1H and full game of Game 3. Took them again to win the series at +400, took them 1H and full game 4, took them again win the series before game 5. I took them +7, +7.5 +8 and ML and +250, +300 and +350 on the road in Game 5 and then took them ML to win game 6. I rode that momentum into the NBA Finals where I took them to beat the Golden State Warriors on their way to their first NBA title. 2. bet on the Nets to win Game 5 in the 2021 Eastern Conference Semifinals. I came back and bet the Bucks to win the series and doubled down on the Bucks to win Game7 then attended Game 7 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn where I sat next to Emmanuel Sanders and right behind Travis Scott. When I saw Durant stepped on the line and didn't hit the game winning 3, I thanked God. The game went into overtime where the Bucks won, I won my bets and then I called my therapist.
Most Heartbreaking Bet
I had the Oklahoma City Thunder 25-1 to win the NBA title when they blew the 3-1 lead to Golden State. Klay Thompson is just different!
Specialties

NBA, NFL and boxing sides, totals and spreads. But I'll bet on anything if I can find an edge or a market inefficiency.
