There are a couple of reasons for that. First, sportsbooks probably need a minute to wrap their heads around this news and set lines. But more importantly, boxing matches must be sanctioned in the U.S. to rise above exhibition status and for legal sportsbooks in the United States to post lines for those fights.

According to reporting from ESPN, whether this Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson boxing match will be sanctioned or will be an exhibition has not been determined.

Even if a fight is sanctioned by one of boxing's many governing bodies, states don't have to allow sportsbooks to offer odds on something — it's a decision each jurisdiction makes in accordance with its own appetite. New York, for example, is always much more restrictive in what it offers than, say, Colorado.
