One of boxing's rising stars, unified junior lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (18-0, 9 KO), makes his return to the ring to defend his WBC and WBO belts against Brazilian challenger and 2016 Olympic gold medalist Robson Conceicao (17-1, 8 KO).
The fight takes place Friday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, Stevenson's hometown, and marks just his second fight at the venue.
Stevenson is coming off a runaway unanimous decision in March against former champion Oscar Valdez (who beat Conceicao this time last year), while the Brazilian scored a 10-round decision in January.

Shakur Stevenson vs. Robson Conceicao Odds
Odds as of Wednesday and via DraftKings.
Fighter | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Stevenson | -1700 | 90.42% |
Conceicao | +900 | 9.58% |
Stevenson has steadily built himself into one of the most complete young fighters in the sport and he's unsurprisingly getting a lot of respect from sportsbooks. DraftKings has him listed as -1700 favorite and that's actually one of the better lines available across the market.
With the resume he's built at just 25 years old, there's no question that he should be a huge favorite against a fighter who is experienced but has just one 12-round title fight under his belt.
The odds on the total rounds lean heavily toward the over and the odds tilted toward the fight reaching the judges' scorecards. However, Stevenson has had trouble putting away his opponents. A stoppage win for Stevenson isn't completely out of the realm of possibility — he has two in his past five fights — but smooth style hasn't always put him in position to score a knockout in the past.
