Former three-division champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist, Vasiliy Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KO), will make his long-awaited return to the boxing ring Saturday. Loma is set to face up-and-coming lightweight challenger, Jamaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KO), in a main event matchup at Madison Square Garden on ESPN.

Ortiz enters this matchup off of the biggest win of his career against former champion Jamel Herring in May. Lomachenko's layoff since his last fight hasn't been the longest in his career, but it's significant as the Ukrainian fighter remained in his home country to support the war effort against the Russian invasion.

In the interim, he missed out on an opportunity to contend for the undisputed lightweight title, but may get a second chance depending on the outcome against Ortiz.
