Manchester City and FC Copenhagen meet in Denmark on Tuesday night for the first leg of their round of 16 matchup in the Champions League.
The defending champions have won all six matches in this competition so far and are -5000 favorites to advance to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, the Danish club advanced out of a group that included Man United and Bayern Munich to make the knockout stages for the second time in the team’s history.
This is a complete mismatch all over the field, which I believe leads to goals at the Parken Stadium.
Read on for my Copenhagen vs Man City prediction.
Copenhagen
Beyond the perfect record in this tournament, the most impressive thing is the fact that Pep Guardiola’s team has done it without key playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.
This only bolsters an attack that finished with the most goals in the group stage of the competition.
Through six games, City racked up 18 goals on 17.0 expected to go along with a tournament-best 13.7 xGDiff, according to fbref.com.
With a clean bill of health coming into this one, Guardiola’s squad is set for another run at a trophy.
Man City
One thing is for sure, it has not been easy for teams to make the trip to Copenhagen and get a result.
In their three UCL matches at home, the Danish side beat both Manchester United and Galatasaray to go with a loss to Bayern. However, the defeat came in a game where the two teams tied on xG.
Copenhagen also held the German giant to a scoreless draw in the other meeting. Only Bayern Leverkusen this past weekend have allowed fewer than one expected goal to Munich all season.
I would expect the home side to use that same low block in this matchup.

Betting Pick & Prediction
If we’re being honest, City could cover this total by itself, but it wouldn’t shock me if the home side finds a way to get on the scoresheet as well.
So, my best bet is for the total to get over three goals at -110 odds via bet365. I also don’t hate a look at the Cityzens to score more than 2.5 goals at +100.
In this tournament, Guardiola’s team has scored at least three goals in every match, with this same play cashing in all but one game.
City also have a rested De Bruyne to add to the mix. In his three starts in all competitions this season, the Cityzens have scored three goals in every fixture.
Meanwhile, Copenhagen have not played a competitive match since the final game of the group stage in December. The club has been competing in The Atlantic Cup, which is a tournament where European clubs play friendlies after their winter breaks.
In that tournament, the Danish side gave up four goals to IF Elfsborg and two more to Brøndby. The task is now to hold out De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Julián Álvarez.
I do like how Copenhagen was able to defend against Bayern, but this is a different level here. Give me goals in Denmark on Tuesday night.
