PrizePicks is offering a new game type in Florida and a handful of other states called PrizePicks Pick'em Arena. Functionally, it works similar to their traditional pick'em contests — the Daily Board looks the same, and you're still picking player statistics to be more or less than the listed total — but how you win is a bit different.

Arena is available to users 19 years old and up in Arkansas, Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Massachusetts, Oregon, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wyoming.

How it Works

With Arena, you're still picking whether or not players will have more or less than their listed stats. The "Daily Board" looks and functions the same. But the max you can choose in Arena is four players, not six like in traditional contests.

In the Arena, you're playing against a group of other users. For 2-and 3-pick entries, you'll be placed in a group of 20 users. For 4-pick entries, you'll be in a group of 50.

And you'll be put into a random group with other users who:

  • Enter the same number of players (2, 3 or 4)
  • Entered their lineup around the same time
  • Have similar experience/skill level on PrizePicks (there are three levels, and anyone with less than 50 lifetime entries will always be placed together).

How Payouts Work

There are two ways to win in Arena.

  1. Have a perfect lineup. You'll get the full payout, even if you tie with other users who also had perfect lineups.
  2. Have the best score in your group. If there's a tie for the best score but no one had a perfect lineup, your payout will be divided by the total number of winners (i.e. a 5x payout becomes a 2.5x payout if you're tied with one other user).

Here's an example from PrizePicks. You make a $5 lineup with four picks, and tie with one other user for first with 3/4 picks. Instead of winning 10x your amount, you'll win half of that (5x) since you tied with one other user and didn't have a perfect lineup.

If you both have a perfect lineup, you would both win 10x.

Some other payout notes:

  • If you win the group and have a perfect lineup, your payout will be whatever is higher. You don't double up and get 10x twice.
  • Some lineups may earn a different payout than the standard rates listed above, usually because you used players from the same game, or the same player multiple times. You can check your payout rate under the "My Entries" tab.
  • If one pick is correct, you get one point. If a player ties the projection or does not play, you get 0.5 points. So even if a player is scratched after you've submitted your lineup, you can still win your group.
