LIV Golf might not be available at your favorite sportsbook, but that's not because there's no one posting odds. Many books are posting markets, including outrights, finishing position bets like top 10s, and tournament matchups.

You may not see odds for LIV events because it's not approved by your state's gaming regulators. And every state has different standards and rules for approving new sports and leagues. We don't always know why regulators don't approve certain markets, but it could be because they don't feel comfortable with the legitimacy or their ability to verify the results, or because they simply haven't gotten around to approving it yet. Operators need to ask for approval to offer markets, and some states can take up to six months to approve or deny the request.

Some states tend to be more liberal with what they approve (though nowhere near Canada or the UK, where you can bet on the weather). Others like New York are incredibly strict. In NY, any wager must be verifiable in the boxscore of a game, so you can't bet on awards markets like MVP or Rookie of the Year in any sport.

We've compiled a list of every state where LIV betting is offered (though some states only offer in-person betting, anyway). It's a bit split, with several key betting states like New York, New Jersey and more not offering LIV markets.
