We're one week into the preseason, and two rookies in high-powered offenses are standing out and making their presences felt on more and more fantasy draft boards.
The Chiefs and Packers both traded their No. 1 receivers during the offseason, leaving a massive hole in their offensive production. Both teams drafted a pair of promising playmakers. Kansas City brought in Skyy Moore and Isiah Pacheco, while Green Bay drafted Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs.
Pacheco has drawn rave reviews throughout Chiefs camp. The seventh-round rookie saw just two carries and got one reception against the Bears, but his athleticism has stood out so far in August.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire has underwhelmed in his first two NFL seasons, and there’s a chance Pacheco offers a different dynamic.
Doubs, meanwhile, looks like an electric player out wide for the Packers. He caught a touchdown from Jordan Love against the 49ers in Green Bay’s preseason debut. Doubs may still have the likes of Sammy Watkins to leap over on the Packers’ depth chart, but he’s already drawing rave reviews from Aaron Rodgers.
Ronald Jones’ stock is falling in Kansas City, and part of that has to do with Pacheco’s increase. The former Buccaneers running back isn’t even a guarantee to make the Chiefs’ final 53-man roster.
Another running back whose ADP is falling is Gus Edwards, who isn’t as active during training camp as fantasy managers would like after a season-ending injury last year.
