Saints star running back Alvin Kamara has been ruled out of Sunday's Week 10 matchup against the Titans after missing practice all week with a knee injury he suffered in a loss to the Falcons last week.
The news means Mark Ingram will receive a substantial increase in his workload — enough to put him firmly in the fantasy football conversation, according to our analysts. They weigh in on Ingram's potential outlook for Week 10 below.
Start Mark Ingram In Fantasy Football?
written by Chris Raybon
Kamara's absence makes Ingram a locked-in RB1 play against a Titans defense that's been a run funnel, ranking eighth in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA but 24th in rush defense DVOA. Ingram was already averaging 11.0 touches per game with Kamara active over the past two games.
Dwayne Washington has been lightly used on offense, touching the ball only 19 times in 33 games since the start of 2019, so Ingram has a 25-30 touch ceiling here.

Ingram’s role has already begun to grow since re-joining the team: He saw eight touches for 52 yards in Week 8 and 14 touches for 64 yards in Week 9. He could be in store for 20+ touches should Kamara sit and would have RB2 appeal based on workload alone.
Mark Ingram's Fantasy Football Rankings Before vs. After Alvin Kamara Was Ruled Out
Kamara had been ranked as the No. 7 overall running back in half PPR scoring for Week 10 by our Director of Predictive Analytics, Sean Koerner. Chris Raybon, a senior analyst, had Kamara ranked as the No. 9 back.
Koerner had Ingram ranked as the No. 35 RB while Raybon had Ingram slotted at No. 31. Now, Ingram has jumped to No. 13 and 11 in Koerner's and Raybon's RB rankings for half PPR, respectively.
