Streaming quarterback, kicker and defense has been a strategy I've used successfully for years.

I've parlayed that success into a series of weekly recommendations of the top streaming options at those three positions as well as tight end — a position I don't recommend streaming week-to-week, though still offer recommendations for fantasy players who may need a short-term rental.

Here are this season's results through Week 13:

  • Defense: DEF3
  • Quarterback: QB13

Week 14 QB Streamer

Updated pick: Colts QB Philip Rivers at Raiders

When I named Hurts my initial Week 14 QB streamer, it was as a speculative add in the event he won the starting job in Philadelphia. Well, he has won it, but he has a brutal matchup against the Saints so I wouldn't trust him in must-win fantasy matchups.

Hurts is still worth stashing in case he starts Week 16 against Dallas, though — if he plays well over the next two weeks, he'll be a low-end QB1 for fantasy championship week.

For Week 14, though, Rivers is the safer play with a high floor and great matchup.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts vs. Saints

Head coach Doug Peterson announced Tuesday that Jalen Hurts will get the start over Carson Wentz on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Hurts has the rushing upside to provide low-end QB1 value, and he's worth a priority add this week given how tough it has been to stream quarterback this season.

Luckily, in many of my leagues, I ended up hanging onto Justin Herbert and no longer need to stream. In the remaining leagues in which I am still streaming, I am willing to add Hurts in an attempt to catch lightning in a bottle.

Week 14 Defense Streamer

Cowboys at Bengals

Both Brandon Allen and Ryan Finley threw an interception and were sacked a combined six times against the Dolphins last week.

The Cowboys defense is nowhere near the same caliber as Miami, but Dallas is healthy enough now that we can trust them here.

Week 14 Kicker Streamer

Buccaneers K Ryan Succop vs. Vikings

It wasn't pretty, but Dan Bailey ended up posting a solid score (eight points) last week as my streamer. If he converted on all of his attempts, he would have finished with 15, which would have been the No. 2 score at kicker.

This week, Ryan Succop should see plenty of scoring chances as Tampa Bay is one of four teams with a team total of higher than 30 points.

Week 14 TE Streamer

49ers TE Jordan Reed vs. Washington

I'm going to stick with Reed this week.

He has too much potential to shy away from here with George Kittle still out. Steaming tight end is never easy, and we can't simply plug in players coming off a good game because they are typically due to regress. We get the #RevengeGame narrative here, as well, with Reed facing his former team.
