"Streaming" quarterbacks, defenses and kickers has been a fantasy football strategy I've successfully used for years. I've parlayed that success into weekly recommendations for those three positions as well as tight end — a position I don't recommend streaming week-to-week, though still offer recommendations for fantasy players who may need a short-term rental.
Note that these players are rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! leagues as of writing on Tuesday, but that these recommendations do not mean that they are the best streamer play for your league — be sure to check my up-to-the-minute rankings to see who the best available player is in your league.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa vs. Atl (18%)
It's a tricky week for QB streamers because there are a handful of QBs ranked from QB8-14 who could be available in your league. Therefore, there's no need to use any of your FAAB budget or a waiver claim on a QB streamer this week — instead, I would wait until my final tiers are released late Saturday to stream the top available QB once we have more clarity.
I'm using Tagovailoa as a placeholder because he's currently my highest-ranked QB rostered in fewer than 50% of leagues.
He looked sharp at times last week and the Dolphins remain committed to a pass-heavy approach, though his final rank this week will come down to the status of DeVante Parker and Preston Williams — if both are ruled out again, I'll likely flip Tagovailoa for a different QB on Saturday.
Saints Defense at SEA (42%)
The Saints open the week as my DEF6 as they face the Geno Smith-led Seahawks on Monday Night Football coming off their bye.
Falcons K Younghoe Koo at MIA (47%)
Koo was dropped in a ton of leagues because the Falcons were on their bye. I wouldn't bid more than just a couple FAAB on him, though, since someone else in your league also has their eyes on him — there are plenty of other options this week outside of Koo.
One of the appeals is he plays home games in a dome environment. However, the Falcons play only four out of their remaining 11 games at home.
WFT TE Ricky Seals-Jones (30%)
RSJ opens the week as my TE10 and is still available in 70% of leagues. He's taken over the full "Logan Thomas role," and has now logged routes run rates of 82%, 88% and 92% in Thomas' place. As a result, RSJ is a low-end TE1 this week against the Packers.
