Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams has been ruled out of their game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday with a thigh injury.
Williams had been ranked as the 32nd highest running back for Week 8 according to The Action Network's fantasy football rankings.
Expect regular starter D'Andre Swift to pick up even more than his regular workload.
While Swift and Williams split carries in the backfield — each averages around 10 rushes per game — Swift averages over seven targets from the air each game, too. Williams averages just over two targets a contest.
Expect Swift to touch the ball around 25 times now that Williams is out. He's ranked as the 10th best running back in fantasy football this week and is a "locked-in RB1 this week," according to The Action Network's fantasy football analyst Samantha Previte.
Previte added that she expects rookie Jermar Jefferson to fill in for Williams as Swift's backup.
If you're pressed for someone to fill in for Williams, go with the Falcons' Mike Davis, the Texans' David Johnson or the Cowboys' Tony Pollard.
Each of those three are projected to put up around seven points this Sunday.
Otherwise, this is great news for Swift owners, who should tear up an Eagles defense that ranks 29th in the NFL against the run, according to Football Outsiders.

The Lions are looking for their first win of the season. It's by far their most winnable game of the season.
Still, Detroit are +145 home underdogs at DraftKings. Their spread is +3 (-105).
