Week 14 of the NFL season concludes with a Monday Night Football battle in the desert between the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals.
I have three players to target in this game. These players aren’t the flashiest of names and are more bargain-bin guys who could surprise.
TE Hunter Henry
Death. Taxes. The Cardinals getting burned by tight ends. These are life’s certainties.
The Cardinals rank 30th in DVOA against tight ends and have allowed league highs in targets (8.3), catches (6.9), yards (73.3) and touchdowns (0.75) per game to the position.
TE Jonnu Smith
Smith is averaging 11.2 routes run per game, but the absence of Jakobi Meyers (concussion) could lead to more 2TE sets from the Patriots against Arizona’s bottom-three defense against tight ends.
Smith’s 23.6% target rate per route is second on the team behind only Rhamondre Stevenson (25.9%).
WR Greg Dortch
In Dortch’s last game, he operated as the primary slot receiver after Rondale Moore (groin) went down. With Moore ruled out, Dortch is the leading candidate to play that role again.
Dortch posted nine catches (on 10 targets) for 103 yards in the slot in Week 11.
