"Streaming" quarterbacks, defenses and kickers has been a fantasy football strategy I've successfully used for years. I've parlayed that success into weekly recommendations for those three positions as well as tight end — a position I don't recommend streaming week-to-week, though still offer recommendations for fantasy players who may need a short-term rental.
Note that these players are rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! leagues as of writing on Tuesday, but that these recommendations do not mean that they are the best streamer play for your league — be sure to check my up-to-the-minute rankings to see who the best available player is in your league.
Panthers QB Cam Newton vs. WAS (17% Rostered)
This week, Newton is the top streaming option because he offers low-end QB1 upside for the rest of the season. Last season, he was able to post spiked weeks due to the Patriots using him as their goal-line back. The Panthers utilized him similarly in his Week 10 debut, scoring from 2-yards out on a play specifically designed to get Newton a rushing score. However, unlike the 2020 Patriots, Newton has talented weapons at his disposal in Christian McCaffery, D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson. The Football Team lost Chase Young to a season-ending injury last week, making this matchup that much easier for Newton.
Dolphins Defense at NYJ (27%)
There are a ton of great streaming options for defenses this week. I see the Dolphins as the best bet, as they open up the week as my No. 1 defense. They will likely be facing rookie Zach Wilson, who should be able to return from injury. Head coach Brian Flores tends to thrive against rookie QBs as he loves to blitz and disguise coverages, trying to confuse and force inexperienced QBs into mistakes.
Bengals K Evan McPherson at LV (7%)
I believe the Bengals-Raiders matchup offers sneaky shootout potential this week. I like adding McPherson for free this week as he should provide a nice floor/ceiling combo. However, someone in your league may have dropped Greg Zuerlein after he missed Week 10 due to COVID. He may be worth a couple of FAAB bucks if you want to lock up a top-10 kicker the rest of the way.
Jaguars TE Dan Arnold vs. SF (27%)
I will continue to bang the table for Dan Arnold. Despite providing a very high floor for a TE, he is still available in close to 75% of leagues. He has yet to score a touchdown this season, so even bigger games are coming for Darnold once he sees some positive TD regression. He opens up Week 11 as my TE10.
