Streaming quarterback, kicker and defense has been a strategy I've used successfully for years.
I've parlayed that success into a series of weekly recommendations of the top streaming options at those three positions as well as tight end — a position I don't recommend streaming week-to-week, though still offer recommendations for fantasy players who may need a short-term rental.

Here are this season's results through Week 5:
- Defense: DEF1

- Kicker: K4
- Tight end: TE14
Now without further ado, let's go streaming!
Week 6 Defense Streamer
Dolphins vs. Jets
- Rank: DEF4 [Go To My Full Rankings]
- Available in: 93% of leagues
As if 2020 couldn’t get any weirder, the Dolphins, Panthers, Giants and Football Team are all top-10 defenses in my initial rankings.
The Dolphins are 8-point home favorites against the Jets (find real-time odds here). The Dolphins should rack up a few sacks and force Joe Flacco into a pass-heavy game script, which could lead to a turnover or two.
It’s important to remember that for team defense to have a ceiling week, it would involve defensive touchdowns, which are far less predictive. I consider the Dolphins more of a high-floor play that should provide you with a handful of points because they grade out well in the more predictive stats.
Week 6 QB Streamer
Vikings QB Kirk Cousins vs. Falcons
- Rank: QB11 [Go To My Full Rankings]
- Available in: 67% of leagues
The Vikings have a juicy matchup against the Falcons and have the highest team total of Week 6.
Cousins should be viewed as a low-end QB1 and the top streaming option this week. The Falcons have allowed seven different WRs to clear 90 yards in just five games, which means Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson are primed for massive games this week. And Irv Smith Jr. is starting to heat up, coming off a four-catch, 64-yard performance in Week 5 and could become a reliable No. 3 option for Cousins from now on.
If Dalvin Cook’s injury ends up sidelining him for Week 6, it would only elevate Cousins’ ceiling in this matchup. Fire him up with confidence this week.
Week 6 Kicker Streamer
Lions K Matt Prater at Jaguars
- Rank: K1 [Go To My Full Rankings]
- Available in: 68% of leagues
Prater was likely dropped in a ton of leagues as he was on his bye in Week 5.
The Lions have the second-highest team total of the week and should supply Prater with plenty of scoring chances. He's my No. 1-ranked kicker in my initial projections.

Week 6 TE Streamer
Steelers TE Eric Ebron vs. Browns
- Rank: TE9 [Go To My Full Rankings]
- Available in: 47% of leagues
Ebron is starting to heat up and has posted back-to-back games with five receptions. His routes run per dropback have stabilized in the 75% range, which is excellent for a widely available TE.
The Browns will have to game plan around Steelers rookies Chase Claypool after he erupted for four touchdowns last week. That could open things up for Ebron in this matchup against a team that has struggled covering TEs this season.
Ebron has a solid floor/ceiling combo this week and is my preferred streaming option.
