A few months after BetRivers suffered an outage for roughly 19 total hours in New York, the betting site is down yet again in the state.
Patrons for BetRivers in New York were unable to access the app at all to place bets or look at odds starting 8 p.m. ET on Monday night. As of 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday afternoon, the app still wasn't accessible — a total of roughly 19 hours and counting.
Early Tuesday afternoon, BetRivers added an update to the app, "We are currently experiencing technical issues on our New York site," the screen read. "We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."
"We are actively monitoring the issue and our team is working hard to resolve it as quickly as possible."
A BetRivers representative told the Action Network that he was looking into the problem. The outage took place in the midst of two Monday Night Football games, several UEFA Champions League games and a myriad of other contests.
BetRivers saw its handle slip precipitously between October and November 2023. Handle fell from $114.2 million to $76.6 million in the state of New York after the sportsbook changed its VIP promotions system to exclude some bettors without alerting them.
Expect handle to increase again in the month of December after the sportsbook reinstated some of these VIP promotions for users that had previously been banned.
Despite BetRivers' horrible month of November, the sportsbook still remained the fifth-most popular sportsbook in the state of New York, trailing the four major sportsbooks of FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM and Caesars.
