North Carolina sports betting will launch on March 11.

In total, eight sportsbook will launch on March 11, including one entirely new operation from Underdog Sports:

Underdog is surely the most interesting sportsbook of the bunch, considering the sportsbook hasn't rolled out any details about its interface or promotions. It stands to reason that the company would attempt to put out an incredibly lucrative new user promotion in order to enter the space with aplomb. DraftKings and FanDuel, for instance, own the vast majority of market share across the ecosystem.

Underdog is currently offering only a $100 deposit bonus for its daily fantasy sports product — but that's standard fare for that market space. For sportsbooks, though, offers of $1,000 or more are the most commonplace, and are almost necessary in order to take players that could be playing at market leaders away from those products.

In general, we'd recommend signing up for these sportsbooks after the official launch date on March 11. While each sportsbook is offering pre-registration promotions prior to March 11, typically you're unable to stack those with the standard, post-launch promotion.

And those pre-registration promos are far less valuable on the whole. They typically clock in at around $100 to $200 in free bets per offer, whereas you can expect to see a $5,000 risk free bet at a few of the other sportsbooks for new users.

In general, there will be plenty to bet on. The day after North Carolina launches on March 11, the ACC Tournament starts. Then, a week later, it's March Madness.
