Whether you’re hosting a Halloween party or hitting the town, there will be some recognizable appearances from characters around the sports and pop culture world.
You might lose track of the number of Barbie, Ken and Coach Prime costumes you'll see this weekend. Along those lines, though, since everything is better with betting, we thought it would be fun to set over/unders on how many times you might see the most popular Halloween costumes this year, whether sports or pop culture-inspired. What you do with these lines is up to you.
And before you ask — yes, this was inspired by the number of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce couples costumes we are preparing to be enchanted by this weekend.
10 Halloween Costume Bets to Make with Friends
Barbie and Ken Over/Under 6.5
Barbie was the highest-grossing film of 2023 and there were more than a handful of iconic looks for this duo that will translate perfectly to costumes. In the spirit of keeping things sports adjacent, I fully support bonus points to all Barbie and Ken roller skating costumes you see this Halloween.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Over/Under 4.5
This new power couple has already developed quite a reputation for themselves in the sports world, but we’re ready for the folklore to grow even more on Halloween. (That was the last song title I’m forcing in here, I promise.)
A Chiefs jersey and red lip will make the perfect couples costume and I feel confident many people will back me up on that this weekend.
Coach Prime Over/Under 2.5
I hope we’re all ready to have, “Do you believe now?!” yelled at us by a guy in shades this Halloween because it is certainly coming. Especially after the Buffs’ breakout season, Deion Sanders’ incredibly cool style is instantly recognizable with some simple accoutrements.
Prepare for the sunglasses and cowboy hats.
Ted Lasso and Coach Beard Over/Under 2.5
An easily recognizable costume that says, “I’m not like other guys, I watch shows where men show their emotions” — need I say more? Plus who doesn’t love wearing a fake mustache.
Kendall Roy in his L to the OG Jersey Over/Under 2.5
Now this line might feel a bit high seeing as this moment happened back on season two of Succession, but I promise you I spend enough time on TikTok to say that’s not the case. The series ended this year and this is really the only outfit that serves as a recognizable costume, making it the perfect opportunity to bust out the pinstripes and bowtie. Just please don’t start rapping.
Referee Over/Under 1.5
There’s some chalk on the over here because anyone who has a black-and-white striped shirt is throwing this fit together at the last minute. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Over/Under 1.5
Shoutout to Paramount+ for bringing Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team back into the cultural conversation. America’s Sweethearts have their uniform represented at the Smithsonian, meaning this classic costume will keep Halloween party goers thunderstruck. (That was the last song title, I mean it this time.)
Rihanna and a Dancer from the Super Bowl Halftime Show Over/Under 0.5
Rihanna’s iconic Super Bowl LVII halftime show was the cherry atop the Chiefs-Eagles showdown in February (though let’s be honest, everything she does is iconic). Pairing an all-red outfit with an all-white outfit could certainly pop up this Halloween season.
Rockford Peaches Player Over/Under 0.5
This has been a staple (thanks Madonna) since A League of Their Own came out in 1992, but Amazon’s recent series could make it an even more likely choice this year.
Sidney and Billy from White Men Can’t Jump Over/Under 0.5
This is a bit of a deeper cut, but it’s hard to compete with the classics. Sidney and Billy are the perfect duo to replicate, especially if you don’t want to look further than your closet. While this one is also less likely to pop up, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them this weekend.
