We’re not sure if you will spot Bigfoot at the Blackjack table, but if you ever hoped to see the creature at a casino, here’s your chance.
Every November, the Quinault Beach Resort & Casino in Ocean Shores hosts the Sasquatch Summit, inviting researchers, witnesses, enthusiasts, and skeptics to explore the mystery of this elusive creature.
For one weekend every year, mixed in amongst the slot machines, roulette tables, and blackjack dealers, Bigfoot enthusiasts from all over the world converge.
This all-ages event features a variety of vendors, compelling witness testimonies presented by the Olympic Project, and insightful talks from speakers worldwide.

What Can You Do at The Sasquatch Summit?
Over the next couple of days there will be presentations from notable figures such as David Paulides, Dr. Jeff Meldrum, Scott Taylor, Barb Shupe, and Olympic Project members.
In addition to the guest speakers, if you’re up early enough and looking forward to breakfast, you may want to try a “Breakfast Squatchuritto.” If you get hungry while you’re canvassing all of the handmade items and cryptid collectibles on the vendor floor, stop and get yourself an oversized Sasquatch Pretzel
And at the end of the day, or enjoy a cocktail like the Blue Yeti or the Very Berry Sasquatch.
The Sasquatch Summit is also held in memory of Butch Pope, who attended the event every year and took the time and energy to share the tribal culture of Siet’ko with everyone.
The Legend of Bigfoot
Many believe that Bigfoot is an undiscovered giant hominid that has somehow escaped detection in the American wilds. Those often described as “woo-ers” believe that Bigfoot is magical or paranormal and can disappear through wormholes.
In case you’re wondering, the name Bigfoot was coined in 1958 after large footprints were reportedly discovered. Sasquatch is a term used in Canada and the United States. It is derived from the Salish word se'sxac, which means "wild men"
In Ohio, Bigfoot apparently goes by the name Grassman. Who knew?
Why Is The Sasquatch Summit at a Casino in Washington?
But why would the Sasquatch Summit be held at the Quinault Beach Resort & Casino in Ocean Shores?
As the organizers note, "Grays Harbor, Washington, is often considered the Sasquatch capital of the world, a hotspot for encounters, sightings, and rich cultural history.
From the Quinault Indian Nation's tales of 'Siet’ko' to loggers' reports of forest encounters, the region holds many secrets. The goal of this event is to share comprehensive information and provide a platform for those who've experienced these phenomena to share their stories.
