The PGA Tour head to Colorado for The BMW Championship.
This is a course we are not used to seeing, so all we have are scorecards, pictures and Google Earth measuring tools. This is why I am doing the work for the people to get all of the boots-on-ground tasks to get all of the information we need before we tee off at this years BMW Championship. Be sure to check out all of the content from myself and Action Network team this week to cash some bets.

BMW Championship Preview: Who Has the Edge at Longest Course on Tour?
On paper, this is the longest golf course we have ever seen on The PGA Tour. There surely is a caveat to that, as this quite literally is being played just outside The Mile High City, so the elevation will cause the ball to travel much further.
Reigning BMW Champion Viktor Hovland+1600 will try to defend his title. Sadly for Viktor, it has not been a great year for him. He went on a tangent last week about how he got stuck in swing rabbit holes during the offseason and couldn't quite dial it back in over the 2024 season. Aren't all golfers just the same?
Last week was a step in the right direction. Things finally looked like they clicked for Viktor and he posted a very solid result in Memphis. Over eight strokes gained ball striking led him to a T2 finish, which was his best of the year.
The betting favorite yet again is none other than Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler opens this week at +320 which is not the worst of numbers we have seen on him this season, especially in a 50-man field.
Rory McIlroy+1200 should be very happy heading to a course that is over 8,000 yards and will play at elevation. I can see him hitting multiple drives that break the 400-yard barrier.
Sadly for Rory, he is coming in off of one of the worst weeks of his professional golfing career. His T68 in Memphis resulted in -13.12 strokes gained to the field, his previous worst was -10.05. Rory has been doing it for a very long time, it is shocking that he posted a result this poor at this point of his career.
Tony Finau+2500 is going to be a popular pick for a few reasons, but I do not believe he will live up to the hype. He is from Utah and grew up playing in these conditions. He also posted a great round on Twitter over a year ago in which he shot a course record at elevation. I believe the Tony pick this week is too narrative-based, and I do not see him finishing inside the top-five here.
The rest of the golfers that round out the 25/1 and under range our Xander Schauffele +550,Collin Morikawa +1400, Hideki Matsuyama +1600, Patrick Cantlay +2000, Ludvig Aberg +2000, and Tommy Fleetwood +2500.
Of this range, Collin Morikawa and Ludvig Aberg catch my eye the most. I am in the belief that approach play will matter far more than we originally thought, and Collin will have a bounce back week in that regard. With Ludvig, he is used to seeing new courses all year long while the majority of PGA Tour pros are not, so this may give him a leg-up heading into the week.
