The major championship season in men's professional golf comes to an end this week with The 152nd Open Championship.
It is the last chance for glory as all the world's best players gather in Troon, Scotland for the 2024 British Open.
Bettors have remained zeroed in on Scottie Scheffler, as they have all season for the world's No. 1 player. Scheffler is the biggest liability at BetMGM. He is getting 16.2% of the bets and a whopping 25.9% of the handle at BetMGM.
Scheffler opened at +1000 (at the beginning of the season) and is now +500 to win the British Open at BetMGM.
At ESPN BET, Scheffler has garnered the most bets (7.9%) and handle (16.6%).
Scheffler is not the most popular bet at Fanatics. That instead is Rory McIlroy.
"McIlroy leads the way with 8.1% of the tickets and 9.3% of the handle, while Scheffler ranks second in each at 6.6% and 7.1% respectively," according to a Fanatics spokesperson." Action has slowed on McIlroy over the past week, though, as he ranks only fifth over that span with 5.3% of the handle. As a result, his odds have risen from +700 to his current +850 standing since Monday."
McIlroy is the second-most popular bet at BetMGM (7.9%) and has garnered the second-most money (9.4%). He is +800 at BetMGM.
Collin Morikawa is the second-biggest liability at BetMGM. He has received 4% of the tickets and 4.8% of the money.

Cameron Young has garnered a significant amount of money over the past week at Fanatics. He has received 8.1% of the money over the last week despite just 1.7% of the tickets. He is third in handle at Fanatics.
Ludvig Åberg is the third-most popular bet at ESPN BET. He has received 5.95% of the bets and 7.9% of the handle.
The only notable bet the sportsbooks have publicized is a bet on Akshay Bhatia at BetMGM. One bettor placed a $4,000 bet to win $400,000 at BetMGM.
