The PGA Tour heads to Colonial Country Club for the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge. This is a venue we see on a yearly basis on the PGA Tour and always provides a great test. This is one of the few short golf courses on Tour that continues to hold the test of time.
Colonial Country Club is a track with a ton of doglegs that does a great job of leveling the playing field because Driving Distance is minimized on most holes in very tight corridors. Few golfers will pull driver if they are confident and have experience around here on many holes.
Golfers like Jordan Spieth play this event on an annual basis and know the sight lines extremely well. Course history is a real advantage around Colonial, so that is a factor for selecting golfers.

Brian Harman +4000
Brian Harman has not had a great 2024 on the PGA Tour, but this is a golf course that accentuates his strengths, and he has one of the highest ceilings in this field.
The Champion Golfer of the Year is coming off of back-to-back strong weeks in terms of Strokes Gained (SG): Approach the Green, including ranking eighth in the field at this weekend's PGA Championship. Both Quail Hollow Club and Valhalla Golf Club are bomber's courses that are extremely long, so Harman lost strokes off the tee in both events and finished 47th and 26th, respectively.
If Harman peaks this week on Approach on a golf course where his Driving Accuracy is emphasized over Driving Distance, then it would be perfect timing to use him in One & Done. Add in the pure bentgrass greens, and Harman's putter will also be a weapon in Fort Worth this weekend.
Harman also has great course history around Colonial, which is a huge bonus. In 11 trips here, he has only missed the cut twice and has finished inside the top 10 three times. Harman also has very consistent ball-striking showings here, which check out when you dive into the course.
Colonial rewards accuracy off the tee and elite iron play, and distance is not needed. That is Harman's game to an absolute tee. He is a great selection for your Charles Schwab Challenge One & Done pick and was probably selected by others early on in the season.
Si Woo Kim +3500
Si Woo Kim is in for a bounce back this week. He had a very poor showing at the PGA Championship at Valhalla, but this is a much better course fit for him. Kim is in the middle of an elite ball-striking season but does not have the best results to show for it because of his poor putting.
That tells me he is close to a spike performance. Looking at Kim's course history, he has not faired well here. However, his best result came last year when he tied for 29th and gained six stokes ball-striking here, which tells me Colonial suits both his eye and his game.
The youngest golfer to ever win THE PLAYERS Championship has all the ceiling in the world and makes a ton of sense around Colonial Country Club. People will not be rushing to get him in their pool because of his underwhelming course history, so he is a great candidate to garner some leverage.
Chris Kirk +5500
Chris Kirk consistently plays well at his favorite courses on Tour — it is as simple as that. In 13 trips to Colonial, he has won, finished in the top 16 seven times and only missed one cut. That is extremely impressive.
Year after year, his form is in a different spot, but Kirk has still shown extreme consistency in Fort Worth. Kirk enters in strong tee-to-green form because he has gained strokes ball-striking in six of his last seven starts. While he missed his last cut at Valhalla, that is not a Kirk course at all.
He best suits courses that demand a ton of mid and short irons — not approaches from over 175 yards on every hole like Valhalla. Kirk has already won this season and fits the course perfectly.
