The final week of the 2024 LIV season is here. We head to Maridoe Golf Club, which is located in the greater Dallas area, for the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship. The format of this event is very different, which will lead to a different style of betting. We will get to that at the end of this article, but let's first take a look at the seeding ahead of the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship, the style of golf that'll be played and the course.

2024 LIV Golf Team Championship Predictions, Picks, Betting Preview

Jon Rahm got the job done as the favorite in Chicago and conquered the LIV Golf Individual Championship. That is great for Rahm, but has no bearing on this week's seeding. More importantly, Crushers GC won the team leaderboard in Chicago and grabbed the team win and the No. 1 seed in the LIV Golf Team Championship. The top three seeds are Crushers GC, Legion XII and Ripper GC. The rest of the standings are as follows:

4) Smash GC
5) Torque GC
6) Fireballs GC
7) Stinger GC
8) Cleeks GC
9) RangeGoats GC
10) 4Aces GC
11) Majesticks GC
12) HyFlyers GC
13) Iron Heads GC

The Format

The top three seeds will get a bye into Saturday's semifinals. On Friday, seed's 4-13 will compete in knockout matches. However, the highest-seeded teams will get to choose their first-round opponent.

For example, Smash GC will have the first selection and get to choose who it wants to play Friday. The matches will consist of two single's matches and a foursomes match. These matches will be worth one point each. The team that's able to win two of the three points will survive and advance.

On Saturday, the match style will remain the same, but the lowest seed will face off against the highest remaining seed. Sunday will be a little different as the top four teams remaining will play stroke play. Each member's score will count toward a combined aggregate score relative to par. The lowest team score on Sunday will be crowned the 2024 LIV Team Champion.

Maridoe Golf Club

This course has hosted some interesting events in the past, such as the Southern Amateur, Trans-Mississippi Amateur, East West Cup Matches and the USGA Women’s Four-Ball Championship.

This course is just over five years old and does a great job emulating "modern golf." Tipping out around 7,800 yards, golfers need to be long off the tee and unafraid to use their driver often.

There isn't too much elevation change. This course really seems to boil down to being able to hit the ball long and straight. Whichever team can do so the best will come out on top and win the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship.

The Odds and Picks

Rahm's Legion XII opens as a 3-1 favorite. The next closest team is Bryson DeChambeau's Crusher GC and Cam Smith's Ripper GC.

Their may be some long shot value down the board, but I really believe Legion is the team to bet at 3-1. The fact that this team will get a bye to the semis is massive. From there, they do a great job answering the number one question this golf course asks.

Distance is a huge advantage around here and DeChambeau hits the ball a long way, but he's only one person. The rest of his team consists of short-to-average length hitters.

Meanwhile, Legion XII has distance for days. Rahm can obviously smash the ball a long way and Tyrrell Hatton is plus in distance and can drive the ball on a string. The next two golfers are Caleb Surratt and Kieran Vincent. Surratt is a tad more well rounded with some plus distance, but Vincent does one thing well, and that's hit the ball far!

Combining all those factors gives me confidence in betting Legion at 3-1.

If you are looking for a long shot, the RangeGoats (30-1) are built around distance. They have the ability to win a match or two and put you in a great hedge spot.
