2024 LIV Golf UK Picks & Betting Preview

LIV Golf is back following The Open Championship as there is more golf across the pond this week as JCB Golf & Country Club hosts LIV Golf UK.

This is the third time LIV Golf has been to England but the first time the tour will play JCB Golf & County Club. This 7,300-yard par-71 does not have a ton of history or events to fall back on.

The course hosted the JCB Championship on the Legends Tour in 2022 and 2023 and led to winners of -11 and -6. It's important to note that the 2023 event was a two-round event rather than the usual three rounds on the Legends Tour.

I am expecting the scoring conditions to be fairly easy this week because the weather looks benign, the landing areas off the tee are not too tough, and the course is not overly long.

If Alex Cejka could get to -11 in "firm and fast conditions" (by Legends Tour terms), then I expect these LIV Golf players to light the course up. Usually, the LIV Golf setups are fairly soft and do not provide a really tough test — outside of Doral and Valderrama, of course.

Let's take a look below at some of the key metrics to analyze for success at JCB Golf & Country Club along with our 2024 LIV Golf UK Picks & Betting Preview.

2024 LIV Golf UK Key Metrics

Greens in Regulation Percentage

With driving being fairly easy, this puts an emphasis on approach play. The more greens golfers hit, the more chances they will have to make birdies!

Below are the leaders in Greens in Regulation Percentage on LIV Golf this season as well as the best iron players in terms of Strokes Gained: Approach among the LIV Golf players who have competed in the majors this season.

  1. Jon Rahm 73.41%
  2. Paul Casey 72.59%
  3. Joaquin Niemann 72.22%
  4. Richard Bland 72.04%
  5. Sergio Garcia 71.85%

Birdies per Round

With the scoring conditions looking easy, golfers are going to have the roll the rock to win this week. Here are the leaders in terms of birdies per round on LIV Golf this season.

  1. Jon Rahm (5.14 Birdies per Round)
  2. Joaquin Niemann (4.8 Birdies per Round)
  3. Tyrrell Hatton (4.73 Birdies per Round)
  4. Carlos Ortiz (4.53 Birdies per Round)
  5. Abraham Ancer (4.43 Birdies per Round)

2024 LIV Golf UK Picks

It has been a profitable season for us this season. Through 10 events, we have grabbed three winners, which are listed below:

  • LIV Vegas: Dustin Johnson +1600
  • LIV Miami: Dean Burmester +3200
  • LIV Houston: Carlos Ortiz +2900

Sadly, we have chased an elusive Jon Rahm win in five of the 10 events. However, hitting a winner in three of the five events in which I did not bet Rahm is pretty impressive, and I wish I would have done that all season.

Hindsight is 20/20, and chasing that single-bullet Rahm win simply has to come to an end. More than likely, he will win now that I am off of him. Nonetheless, here is the betting card using the 7x ROI Card Construction Structure.

Golf

Cameron Smith +2200

I have been out on Cameron Smith all season long, but it is time to buy the dip in his odds at 22-1.

JCB Golf & Country Club doesn't demand distance or extreme accuracy off the tee, but it will reward spike approach play and putting, and that combination is a perfect recipe for a Cam Smith win.

The Aussie was awful at Royal Troon, but that was a course he never would have played well on given it's missed-fairway penalty off the tee.

If Smith was in great form, he would not be longer than 20-1 to win, so I'm willing to pounce on a great number on a winner who can light up the cup any given week as arguably the best putter in the world.

Golf

Dean Burmester +2300

Dean Burmester is trending in a great direction, and he can have a field day off the tee in this event. Burmester has been excellent on LIV Golf this season while winning at LIV Miami and finishing in a tie for eighth or better four other times.

He also played very well at Royal Troon in The Open as well. He was in one of the final groups on Saturday afternoon before he fell apart. At the end of the day, a T19 finish was more than solid last week.

Burmester has hit the ball extremely well this season and is a streaky putter who is live to win for the second time this season.

Golf

Adrian Meronk +4300

Adrian Meronk is an absolute birdie-maker. The Polish Giraffe checks the boxes of being long off the tee, an elite iron player and one of the more aggressive players on LIV Golf.

I believe this event will yield very low scores, which means golfers will need to fire at pins to win. By betting Meronk, you know you will get that necessary level of aggression. He has played well on LIV Golf this season as he nearly won at LIV Houston and is trending for that first win.

Golf

Matthew Wolff +5000

Matthew Wolff has a very high ceiling and has played well of late.

Wolff has finished inside the top 20 in his last three starts and has the ability to spike in a massive way on a course like this. With some wide landing areas off the tee, he has ability to make a mockery of these par-4s by flipping wedges into them all.

Every once in a while, Wolff goes on scorched-earth birdie runs or gets white hot with the putter. This is a great course for him to tap into that.
