2024 RBC Canadian Open Odds

Rory McIlroy is the betting favorite for the 2024 RBC Canadian Open at +420 odds to win his third Canadian Open after opening at +390. The last time Hamilton Golf & Country Club hosted the Canadian Open was in 2019, and McIlroy won that tournament by seven shots after firing a final-round 61 after holding a share of the 54-hole lead.

Following McIlroy's victory at Hamilton Golf & Country Club five years ago, architect Martin Ebert completed a renovation of the course that included a reconstruction of greens, bunkers and tees on all 27 holes along with a new putting green, practice area and irrigation system.

Overall, McIlroy has made three Canadian Open starts and has wins in 2019 and 2022. Those were consecutive Canadian Open wins because the tournament was canceled in both 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 26-time PGA Tour winner also finished in a tie for ninth last year at Oakdale Golf & Country Club.

Last year's winner at Oakdale, Nick Taylor, opened at +5500 to defend his Canadian Open title this week and has slid to +7000 as of Tuesday late afternoon. With his walk-off playoff victory, Taylor became the first Canadian to win his national open in 69 years. Taylor also won in dramatic fashion in a playoff earlier this season at the WM Phoenix Open but does not have another individual top-10 finish in eight starts since then.

The man whom Taylor defeated in last year's Canadian Open playoff, Tommy Fleetwood, is the only other golfer other than McIlroy shorter than 20-1 to win this week as the Englishman opened at +1700 to win his first PGA Tour event and has slightly drifted to +1900. Fleetwood has only made two Canadian Open appearances and has thrived in each as he was second last year and tied for sixth at Glen Abbey GC in 2018.

Fleetwood has a win this season on the DP World Tour when he held off McIlroy in January to win the Dubai Invitational and also impressed when he tied for third at the Masters in April.
