2024 Memorial Tournament Updated Odds

Scottie Scheffler is once again the outright betting favorite at +390 odds to win the Memorial Tournament this week. The four-time winner in 2024 has not finished outside of the top 10 in any of his last 10 starts on the PGA Tour and is looking to improve upon third-place finishes at Muirfield Village Golf Club in each of the last two seasons.

The Texas Longhorn was by far the best player at the Memorial Tournament last year from tee to green, but Scheffler also ranked dead last among those who made the cut in Strokes Gained: Putting, so he finished one shot out of a playoff between Viktor Hovland and Denny McCarthy.

Hovland went on to win that playoff and is 17-1 after opening at 19-1 to go back-to-back this week in Ohio at bet365. The reigning FedExCup champion struggled by his lofty standards during his first seven starts of the season as he failed to record a top-20 finish after changing instructors this season.

However, Hovland reunited with swing coach Joe Mayo prior to the PGA Championship, and he looked like his 2023 self in that event as he finished in third place and gained strokes on the field in all four major strokes gained categories. He looks to ride that momentum into Ohio this week.

The man who held off Hovland, among others, at Valhalla, Xander Schauffele, opened with the second-shortest outright odds to win the Memorial this week at +750. His odds have since slid to +1000 as of Wednesday afternoon.

Schauffele has been the second-best golfer in the world this season behind Scheffler statistically as he is second in Strokes Gained: Total and is also second with nine top-10 finishes behind Scheffler — no other golfer on the PGA Tour has more than five top-10 finishes this season.

Schauffele has been consistently strong at Muirfield Village over the years as the eight-time PGA Tour winner missed the cut here in 2018 but has six consecutive finishes between 11th and 24th in Dublin, Ohio. Now that Schauffele is playing the best golf of his life, is this the time that he puts the pieces together and sips a victorious milkshake on Sunday night?

Rory McIlroy is the only other golfer priced shorter than 10-1 odds at open on Monday morning as bet365 has the Northern Irishman at +900 to win for the first time at Muirfield Village. McIlroy is now +1000 as of Wednesday and has five top-10 finishes here but no wins in 12 career starts, including a tie for seventh last year.

McIlroy's prodigious length off the tee will once again be an asset this week if he can find the shortgrass often enough off the tee, and he is looking for his third win in his last five starts after winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Shane Lowry and out-dueling Schauffele down the stretch at the Wells Fargo Championship.
