The PGA Tour heads to North Carolina for the final regular season event of the season. The Olympics were an extremely fun event, but a majority of the names at the top of the leaderboard will not be around this week. This week is for the golfers on the fringes of the Top 30, 70, and 125 of the season long FedEx Cup playoff standings. Every point matters for specific details heading into the playoffs and the following year.
Lucas Glover is back to defend his title at Sedgefield Country Club. He opens the week at +10000 and won this event last season. This time around, Glover is not in solid enough form to win.
The odds-on favorite for the week is Sungjae Im at +1600. He comes into this event with great ball striking form and even better course history. Sungjae has never missed a cut nor finished worse than 24th here in five trips to this event. At his core, he is a player who thrives on short Bermuda golf courses which is exactly what we have here.

2024 Wyndham Championship Preview: Volatile Betting Market This Week
Akshay Bhatia +3300 is always a trendy name, but I am really wondering what the overwhelming narrative around him will be. Personally, his poor result at The Open is meaningless to me. That was his first time playing links golf and was all but a learning experience, in my opinion.
Bhatia is both long and straight off the tee and is very elite with the wedges. Ranking 18th in total driving on the PGA Tour and 16th on approach is a testament to elite ball striking. Bhatia has the North Carolina connection as well as he grew up in the Wake Forest area.
Speaking of Wake Forest, Demon Deacon's Cam Young +2500, Will Zalatoris +5500 and Webb Simpson +5500 are in the field. Zalatoris is not in the best of form, as he has not cracked the top 40 since The Masters but has made two of three cuts here.
Young is yet to play this event, but is putting on an absolute ball striking display of late. He has gained four-plus ball striking in three straight events. Webb Simpson is the ultimate course horse. So much so that he named his daughter "Wyndham." At this point of his career, Webb is only playing shorter courses that he knows well and feels that he can make the cut at.
Jordan Spieth +2500 is surely an interesting case this week. He needs FedEx cup points in a major way but this does seem like the best spot for him. His ball striking has been very spotty and unpredictable, and this is not the place you can get away with being wide. Prime Jordan finished runner-up here but outside of that, he failed to crack the top 70 in two other trips.
Brian Harman +3000 has not missed a cut since The Masters and has really shown some nice ball striking in that run. He has played this event 10 times and missed the cut in six of them. Although that is not perfect course history, two of those made cuts are finishes inside the top-6.
In the outright market, that is the volatility you are looking for, as a runner-up pays the same as a missed cut. Harman knows he can win and this is the style of golf in which he can thrive on. Short and positional is the name of the game for Harman.
Some other names that round out the top portion of the odds board are Si Woo Kim +2500, Shane Lowry+2500, and Billy Horschel +2500.
