The best field of the PGA Tour season so far is set to play in the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week.
According to Official World Golf Rankings, Bay Hill Club & Lodge is set to host 44 of the world's top 50 golfers. This is the best field since The Open Championship last July.
Bettors have been placing bets on all of the world's best golfers, but there is one who is getting a significant amount of the action — Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy opened at +1000 on BetMGM and has moved to +900 after receiving 8.6% of the bets and a whopping 29.8% of the handle. The World's No. 3 golfer accounts for over 20% more money than any other participant in the field.
Will Zalatoris is the other main focus of bettors thus far. He is getting 8.8% of the tickets and accounts for 8.9% of the handle. He is BetMGM's second-biggest liability. He's gone from +2200 to +1800 at BetMGM.
Scottie Scheffler is also generating some action at +900. The world's No. 2 is getting 5.4% of the bets and accounts for 3.8% of the money.
The third-biggest liability for BetMGM is Matt Fitzpatrick. At +4000, he is getting 4.4% of the tickets and accounts for 5.6% of the handle.
Jon Rahm is the favorite once again this week at +650. He is getting some action with 4.5% of the bets and 3.9% of the money.
Some golfers further down the oddsboard who are receiving action at BetMGM include Jason Day (+3300), Hideki Matsuyama (+5500) and Rickie Fowler (+5000).
