We finally got off the mat on the DP World Tour by hitting Jesper Svensson at +7000 in Singapore. I'm still behind the pace for the season though, so it's back to work this week with four events, headlined by the Houston Open on the PGA Tour.
Find my Global Golf Betting Picks for the following tournaments below:
- Houston Open – PGA Tour
- Ford Championship – LPGA
- Hero Indian Open – DP World Tour
- The Galleri Classic – Champions Tour
Houston Open – PGA Tour
Best Bet: Will Zalatoris +2000 (DraftKings)
Scottie Scheffler is entering rare territory with his outright odds in these events. This week, he'll enter between about +250 and +300. That's not quite prime Tiger territory, but it's definitely in that Steve Stricker Champions Tour level of respect.
I'm going to go pretty high up on the board this week to knock him off and take Will Zalatoris. I'm not going to overreact to a missed cut at THE PLAYERS as I'll back a guy who has that elite upside needed to knock off Scheffler.
Prior to TPC Sawgrass, Zalatoris finished second at Riviera and fourth at Bay Hill. Now we're getting a step down in competition here. Considering his Masters number is basically in this same range with 90% of the stars missing this week, We're getting a generous number for someone capable of hanging with an in-form Scheffler.
Other Houston Open bets:
- Doug Ghim +6600
- Taylor Moore +7500
- Matti Schmid +17000
Ford Championship – LPGA
Best Bet: Charley Hull +3000 (BetMGM)
The LPGA makes a new stop this week in Gilbert, Arizona at Seville Golf and Country Club. For this one, I'll go with Charley Hull, who has been in great form this year.
The Brit has only finished outside the top 10 once in her past six starts with a second and third mixed in during that time. This event features a decent LPGA field with Nelly Korda and Lydia Ko, and because of that, Hull has slipped through the cracks a bit here down to a price range we don't usually see when someone has her recent results.
Other Ford Championship Bets:
- Linn Grant +3300
- Andrea Lee +7000
- Gabriela Ruffels +8000
- Bianca Pagdanganan +20000
Hero Indian Open – DP World Tour
Best Bet: Ewen Ferguson +2200 (DraftKings)
We'll try to hit back-to-back outright winners on the DP World Tour as the tour makes the trip to India. This course isn't easy and requires precision. Consequently, it should set up well for Ferguson as he has great accuracy off the tee and a strong approach game for this level of event.
He's been fairly consistent this season, with finishes in the top 25 in seven of his past eight events. He's also shown winning upside in the past with two victories in 2022.
Other Hero Indian Open bets:
- Adrian Otaegui +3500
- Frederic LaCroix +5500
The Galleri Classic – Champions Tour
Best Bet: Retief Goosen +4000 (BetRivers)
The Champions Tour heads to Dinah Shore for the second time after the course hosted the Chevron Championship, an LPGA major, for over 40 years.
There's not a ton I liked on this board, but Retief Goosen looked to be the best of the bunch for his price. He was third here a year ago and is coming off an 11th last week. It's also nice that last week's winner, Padraig Harrington, is playing in the Houston Open on the PGA Tour this week. As a result, we're getting a little break from one of the Champions Tour elites.
Other The Galleri Classic bets:
- David Bransdon +12500
- Heath Slocum +25000
