I've said it many times here, but when the favorite wins, I'm not going to win. Consequently a Scottie Scheffler runaway victory isn't what I was looking for at the Masters.
However, Ben An made the top Korean play at +350 an easy one, so we got out of the Masters alive. Couple that with a +6600 win in the Sunshine Tour Championship from Jonothan Broomhead, and we're rolling along into a big golf week where we have seven events, including the first LPGA major.
Find my Global Golf expert picks for the following events this week:
- The Chevron Championship – LPGA
- RBC Heritage – PGA Tour
- Corales Puntacana Championship – PGA Tour
- Invited Celebrity Classic – PGA Tour Champions
- LECOM Suncoast Classic – Korn Ferry Tour
- Abu Dhabi Challenge – Challenge Tour
- Joberg Ladies Open – Ladies Euro Tour
I also have some bonus futures bets for the Men's NCAA Golf Championship and the 2025 Masters below.
Global Golf Expert Picks
The Chevron Championship – LPGA
Best Bet: Yuka Saso +4000 (bet365)
The first LPGA major rolls around with Nelly Korda in white hot form after winning four straight events.
Scheffler taught me nothing a week ago, so I'll just fire into the hottest player on the planet.
We'll keep going back to Saso here. She's among the top 10 of Strokes Gained on the LPGA and has gained ground in all four categories. She's played solid all year long, and the only thing missing is that top end finish.
Other The Chevron Championship Bets:
- Megan Khang +5000
- Albane Valenzuela 100-1
- Narin An 140-1
RBC Heritage – PGA Tour
Best Bet: Tommy Fleetwood +3000 (FanDuel)
Tommy Fleetwood has to win one day, right? He is my play at this price in a limited field. Outside of Scottie Scheffler and Ludvig Åberg, Fleetwood will be leaving Augusta with as much confidence as anyone after a solid Sunday round vaulted him into third place.
Harbour Town is an ideal fit for him because it prioritizes accuracy off the tee and good iron play, which have been his strengths through out the years.
One day, he will win on this tour. He's beaten plenty of strong fields globally. He also has three top 10s in his last five starts and has finished inside the top 25 in three of his four starts here. This seems like a good spot for his breakthrough.
Other RBC Heritage Bets:
- Will Zalatoris +3000
- Cameron Davis +7000
- Tom Kim +10000
Corales Puntacana Championship – PGA Tour
Best Bet: Kevin Yu +3500 (DraftKings)
With a limited field at Harbour Town, we got an alternate event in the Dominican Republic as well.
This course in long and wide open like many resort courses, but we haven't seen many bombers actually come out on top.
Despite that, I'm going with one of the longer guys in the field in Kevin Yu. He hits the ball a mile and has shown the ability to spike with the iron play as well. He has three top 10s so far this year, and his ball-striking was among the best in the field at the Valero Texas Open in his last start.
His short game let him down, which is what tends to happen, but he's not totally lost there. He's shown the ability to putt and chip well at times, but when it's bad, it's really bad. Hopefully this is one of those good weeks.
Other Corales Puntacana Championship Bets:
- Matti Schmid +6500
- Thriston Lawrence +6600
- S.H. Kim +6600
- Rafael Campos +15000
Invited Celebrity Classic – PGA Tour Champions
Best Bet: Greg Chalmers +2500 (BetRivers)
It's an off week for most of the big names on the Champions Tour. No Padraig Harrington, Steven Alker, Steven Stricker or Stewart Cink means we get Jerry Kelly topping the odds board for the first time in quite a while.
I like Greg Chalmers here. He's got a seventh and a ninth in his past three starts against deeper fields. He's hit the ground running on this tour in his rookie season and seems pretty comfortable out there.
Other Invited Celebrity Classic Bets:
- Arjun Atwal 100-1
LECOM Suncoast Classic – Korn Ferry Tour
Best Bet: Trey Winstead +5500
The Korn Ferry Tour is back after a week off for obvious reasons. It heads to Florida for the first time this year on a course we've seen a few times. Lakewood National Golf Club is relatively short and pretty easy, which leads to a pitch-and-putt Bermuda birdiefest.
This week, I'll look at Trey Winstead, who's fairly new on the tour. He had just one start last year and then seven more to begin this season. Nonetheless, the game is there. He's got three top-15 finishes so far with a second and fifth mixed in. We don't have a ton of data to analyze fit, but neither do the books. He is an LSU alum, so he'll be no stranger to golf in Florida.
If that type of form continues, we'll see this number a lot lower in the future.
Other LECOM Suncoast Classic Bets:
- Noah Goodwin, +6600
- Logan McAllister +6600
- Mitchell Meissner +9000
- Mason Williams 110-1
- Davis Shore 150-1
Abu Dhabi Challenge – Challenge Tour
Best Bet: Joshua Grenville-Wood +4000 (BetRivers)
The Challenge Tour heads to the Middle East on a course we haven't really seen much.
Consequently, this handicap relies mostly on form this week, so I like Grenville-Wood at this number. He recently converted to UAE citizenship late last year, so it's the closest thing we have to a home game here.
He was ninth on the DP World Tour earlier in the year at Ras Al Khaimah. As a result, a step down in competition in the UAE will probably suit him. Grenville-Wood was also second in India a few weeks back, so he's shown he can contend on this tour.
Without a ton of data, I'll take his form and comfort level at this price.
Other Abu Dhabi Challenge Bets:
- Jack Senior +5000
- Nicolai Kristensen +6600
- James Nicholas +8000
- Rikard Karlberg +8000
- Oihan Guillamoundeguy 200-1
Joberg Ladies Open – Ladies Euro Tour
Best Bet: Gabriella Cowley +2900 (FanDuel)
The Ladies Euro Tour heads to South Africa this week. It's a pretty soft field even for this tour, being opposite a major championship, but there are still a few things to look at here.
Gabriella Cowley is an established player on this tour with three second-place finishes the past two seasons. She also showed up to South Africa a week early to get some reps in the Ladies Sunshine event, where she finished third.
This is a favorable spot for her to finally grab that win with many Europeans at The Chevron Championship this week.
Other Joberg Ladies Open Bets:
- Lisa Pettersson +5500
- Maiken Bing Paulsen 1000-1
Futures Bets: 2o25 Masters, NCAA Men's Golf Championship
A couple other things were worth a look in golf betting this week.
With the Masters wrapping up, books waste no time posting 2025 Masters Tournament odds. Akshay Bhatia caught my eye at 150-1 on BetRivers. He was +10000 most places this week for his debut and I think he's a player we expect to rise through the ranks.
2025 Masters Pick: Akshay Bhatia 150-1 (BetRivers)
We also have NCAA odds on DraftKings now. That tournament is about six weeks away, but I made two plays.
There aren't many upset in this event due to the depth needed. It's really a three team race with a couple outsiders but Vanderbilt seems to be a notch above North Carolina and Arizona State. With UNC the favorite at +250, Vanderbilt looks like the bet at +400. Vandy has all five of its guys inside the top 21 of the WAGR and are No. 1 by a decent margin on the NCAA's new rankings Spikemark.
In case there's a Cinderella run, I have Virginia at +3500. Their top golfer, Ben James, can complete with anyone, and the Cavaliers have decent depth. I have them sixth or seventh depending on their three-man and five-man rankings, but their odds are 13th, so there might be a little value. The top-eight teams get into the match-play bracket, so we'll see if they can sneak in and make a run.
NCAA Men's Golf Championship Picks: Vanderbilt +400 | Virginia +3500
