LIV Golf Hong Kong Picks & Betting Preview
LIV Golf's fourth event of 2024 is here as the global tour heads to Hong Kong Golf Club for LIV Hong Kong. This is a very different venue than the courses we have see thus far on the LIV circuit. This 6,700-yard par-70 will be the shortest course we have ever seen on the LIV circuit and will yield some different names up the leaderboard.
With the course being shorter and narrower, Driving Accuracy comes into play much more than Driving Distance. This course hosts the Hong Kong Open, which was last played in November. Ripper GC's own Cameron Smith was a notable name on that leaderboard as he finished second at -18. Ben Campbell's winning score ended up being one stroke better.
Other golfers who popped up on that leaderboard were Sangmoon Bae (-15), Harold Varner (-14) and Patrick Reed (-12). A commonality between all of these players is that they lack distance off the tee but are accurate with the driver and can heat up with the irons.
Let's dive into a few key metrics for success at Hong Kong Golf Club and make some picks for LIV Golf Hong Kong.
Key LIV Golf Hong Kong Metrics
Driving Accuracy
Playing out of the fairway is the name of the game at Hong Kong Golf Club. Below are the most accurate drivers thus far on the 2024 LIV Golf circuit.

- 61.11% Abraham Ancer
- 60.32% Talor Gooch
- 59.92% Paul Casey

Birdie Percentage
With the 2023 Hong Kong Open yielding a winning score of -19 over four rounds, rolling birdie putts will be important. Below are the best birdie-makers on LIV Golf so far this year.

- 5 Birdies per Round: Dustin Johnson
- 4.89 Birdies per Round: Jon Rahm
- 4.78 Birdies per Round: Sebastian Muñoz

LIV Golf Hong Kong Betting Picks
Talor Gooch +1600
Outside of Joaquin Niemann and Jon Rahm, Talor Gooch has been the most consistent player on LIV Golf. He has finished T15, T2 and T6 in three events this year, and this should be the best course fit for him. Gooch has never been a long hitter but has been deadly accurate in his time on various tours, and that will play tremendously well at Hong Kong Golf Club.
Gooch can ease any club into the fairway and lean into his elite iron play and great putter. Outside of that, Gooch has been talking a ton online about not being in The Masters and should be very motivated to get a win. That will create a ton of noise in the golfing world, and who knows what Gooch would say in a press conference if he were to win. Combining the course fit with the motivation, this feels like a Talor Gooch week.
Brooks Koepka +1600
Brooks Koepka has been quiet to start the 2024 LIV Golf season but it is getting near that time in which he breaks out. His finishes of T5, T12 and T12 show that he has been very steady to start but has not quite gotten over the line.
Yes, he is a long hitter, but he is a very accurate driver when he is at his best. If Brooks is both long and straight off the tee this week, he will have a great advantage on the field and should find his way into contention. +1600 is a great number on a prolific winner in Brooks Koepka.
Sebastian Muñoz +6000
Muñoz is a birdie-maker and has been for years. He does his best work on golf courses that don't require bombing drivers everywhere. When that is the case, he tends to get a bit offline and find trouble. This week, Muñoz should be able to club down off of the tee and lean into his great birdie-making ability from the fairway.
