The Outlook

It might not feel like it a year after the fact, but Kuchar was only a few Jordan Spieth miracles away from claiming his first major at Royal Birkdale last year. That driving-range bogey and subsequent eagle notwithstanding, Kuchar has turned himself into a strong links-style player. His ability to maintain a low ball flight and keep it in the right direction works well on fast, firm tracks. There’s plenty of scar tissue from last year’s loss, but don’t be surprised to see Kuchar work his way into contention once again.
