While Brooks Koepka capped off an incredible performance on Sunday evening to take home his third PGA Championship and fifth major title, PGA professional Michael Block was the unbelievable story of the day. Block put together a historical performance to tie for 15th, which included remarkable skill and a final-round hole-in-one dunk while playing with Rory McIlroy.

Following his performance, Block was granted a sponsor's exemption into this week's Charles Schwab Challenge. At FanDuel, Block is listed at 500-1 to win the tournament. While that represents the longest odds in the field, he is tied with golfers such as Kevin Kisner, Zach Johnson, Kramer Hickok and Adam Long.
Block's fairy tale run at the PGA Championship earned him automatic qualification into the 2024 iteration of the event, meaning he doesn't need to go through the qualification process that PGA professionals typically must navigate.
I'm not sure that anyone would argue that Block is undeserving of the exemption or the sponsor's exemption he received this week. The scrambling ability and downright talent that he displayed was hard to fathom.
On the final hole of the PGA Championship, Block needed to get up and down to secure a tie for 15th place and qualify for the 2024 PGA Championship, and he did just that by deftly pitching the ball to roughly 10 feet and trickling in the putt. On the biggest stage of his life, Block delivered in an incredible way.
