The weather has been the story of the 152nd Open Championship so far.
On Thursday and Friday, the wind howled as players were befuddled by where their golf ball was going. It caused many of golf's biggest names to miss the cut as only the strongest survived and advanced to the weekend.
Saturday was a bit of a different story. The wind was still a constant — but it flipped. It started coming in from the opposite direction, which made it appear to the players like a completely different golf course. Saturday also yielded some serious rain that players dealt with for the entirety of the round.
Let's take a look at the weather players will be dealing with as the tournament wraps up on Sunday.
As of Saturday afternoon, the forecast for Sunday looks relatively mild, according to Weather.com.
The high will be 62 degrees, which has been the typical temperature for The Open this week. The winds will be between 10 and 20 mph. That is a calm day in this area of Scotland. The wind is expected to be out of the southwest — a different direction than what the leaders dealt with on Saturday, when the wind was coming out of the northwest.
There is a possibility of showers, although it doesn't appear like the rain will be anything like Saturday. There is currently a 24% chance of precipitation over Royal Troon during the day. The rain is expected to roll in during the evening when there is an 88% chance.
