The Outlook

What a strange season it’s been for Matsuyama. The road to superstardom has taken a serious detour, as he’s dealt with injuries and inconsistency. It wouldn’t be beyond the realm of possibility to imagine him contending this weekend, but the better wager here is that he chalks up 2018 as a lost year, recommits himself next year and becomes a top-five player once again.
