It has been a tumultuous week on the PGA Tour.
At times, it's been difficult to remember that there is a golf tournament being played this week.
The RBC Canadian Open begins Thursday at Oakdale Country Club in Toronto. Defending champion Rory McIlroy and RBC ambassador Matt Fitzpatrick headline the field.
Bets have been rolling in on McIlroy as he is getting the second-most bets this week (6%) and accounts for 5.4% of the handle, according to BetMGM. He is the favorite at +450 odds.
Fitzpatrick has garnered less attention with 4.8% of the public bets and 4% of the money at +1400 odds.
The most popular bet this week is Sahith Theegala at +2800 odds. The 27th-ranked player in the world is getting 6.7% of the bets and 9% of the handle. Theegala is still looking for his first win on the PGA Tour, but is the biggest liability for BetMGM this week.
One fascinating liability this week is making his professional debut. Ludvig Aberg has gone from +8000 to +5000 odds after receiving 2.6% of the tickets and a whopping 9.1% of the handle. Aberg recently finished his season with Texas Tech and finished No. 1 in the PGA Tour U rankings to earn status on the PGA Tour.
The sharp action appears to be backing Cameron Young this week. Young is getting 5.1% of the bets and accounts for 9.1% of the handle. The 17th-ranked golfer in the world is also looking for his first win on the PGA Tour. He has placed second or tied for second six times since joining the tour in 2022.
Pick: Cameron Young to win +1500 and Sahith Theegala to win +2800
