  • Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy both won their groups at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, which means the duo will play each other on Saturday morning.
  • Jeff Sherman from the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook said they will open with McIlroy as a -160 favorite and Woods as a +140 underdog.

Golf fans everywhere got their wish: Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will play a head-to-head match in Saturday's Round of 16 after the two superstars won their groups at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

Jeff Sherman, Vice President of Risk Management at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, told our Darren Rovell that they will open the odds for the match at:

  • Rory: -160
  • Tiger: +140

A quick explanation on the odds above: -160 means you have to wager $160 to profit $100, while +140 means you'll profit $140 from a $100 wager.

Saturday will mark the first ever head-to-head match between Woods and McIlroy.

"I'll be ready," Woods said on Friday after beating Patrick Cantlay to advance to the knockout round.

Woods got the better of McIlroy the last time the two faced off in a high-stakes environment, beating Rory by three strokes in the final round of the 2018 Tour Championship to finish off his first victory in five years.

But McIlroy's current form means he'll be a decent favorite on Saturday.

Here are his results in his past six events, starting with his victory at The Players Championship against one of the best fields in golf:

  • Win
  • T6
  • 2nd
  • T4
  • T5
  • T4

Despite this, Westgate is sure to get some Tiger action at +140 from recreational bettors, especially the vacationers in town for the NCAA Tournament's second weekend.

Our Action Network golf projections give McIlroy a 59% chance to advance, which is akin to -145 odds (before factoring in juice).
