The Outlook
This season’s PGA Tour leader in driving distance, at an average of – gulp! – 319 yards, Mullinax owned a distinct advantage at last year’s U.S. Open, where he could bomb it around Erin Hills, resulting in a T-9 in his first career major championship start. Expect Shinnecock to prove more frustrating this week, as the firm track should negate much of his long-ball abilities. That said, following a strong week in Memphis, he could be worth a top-10 ticket to follow up on last year’s performance.
