There was plenty of movement on and off the course Friday at Augusta National Golf Club, with several big players getting in the mix at The Masters.
Jordan Spieth, the 2015 champion, used a 4-under-par round to get within two shots of 36-hole leader Justin Rose and become the favorite entering the final 36 holes of the major championship. Spieth is at +400 odds, with Justin Thomas (+550) and Rose (+600) rounding out the top three on the board.
Rose fought off some early issues in the second round, finishing with an even-par 72 that kept him in front with a one-shot lead over Americans Will Zalatoris (+900) and Brian Harman at +1200 odds.
Spieth and Marc Leishman, who is +1800 on the board, sit at 5 under par. Six others, including Thomas, Tony Finau (+1200) and Hideki Matsuyama (+1600), are three shots behind Rose.
Dustin Johnson, the defending Masters champion and betting favorite entering the tournament (+950), notably missed the cut. Four-time major winners Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy also suffered the same fate.
