The stage is set, the fairways are manicured, the greens are rolled and the rough is thick. U.S. Open week is officially upon us.
All of the top players from both of the major tours ascend onto Los Angeles Country Club for the 2023 U.S. Open.
Scottie Scheffler is the favorite with Jon Rahm right on his tail, as we've seen for so many events this season. But the talk of the tournament has been the "Major King," Brooks Koepka.
Koepka has received the most bets, 7.5%, and accounts for the largest percentage of the handle at 13.2%. He is +1100 to win the tournament at BetMGM. The five-time major champ and two-time U.S. Open champion has received the most top-five and top-10 tickets as well.
Scheffler is also a popular pick at BetMGM. He's getting 6.6% of the bets and accounts for 11% of the handle. The No. 1 player in the world is +600 to win the U.S. Open.
The biggest liability for BetMGM this week is Max Homa. The L.A. native is getting 6.9% of the tickets and 8.1% of the money. He is +2800.
Another liability for BetMGM is Cameron Smith. He is garnering 4.8% of the bets and 5.5% of the handle.
Phil Mickelson is the most popular make-the-cut bet while Bryson Dechambeau is the most popular pick to miss the cut.
If you are looking for a sharp play this week, look no further than Jon Rahm. Interestingly enough, he hasn't been a popular pick this week at 5.9% of the bets. But it appears much of the action he is getting can be considered sharp action as he accounts for 7.4% of the handle.
Pick: Jon Rahm to Win +1000
