Valspar Championship Odds 2024
The PGA Tour heads to Palm Harbor, Florida for the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead Course) following Scottie Scheffler's dramatic one-shot win at THE PLAYERS Championship.
Xander Schauffele finished a shot behind Scheffler at THE PLAYERS, and as of Tuesday afternoon, he is the outright betting favorite for this week's Valspar Championship at +900 odds at open at bet365.
He now has five top-10 finishes in seven PGA Tour starts so far this season as he continues to play quality golf while looking for his first win since the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open. This will be Schauffele's second start at the Valspar Championship as he tied for 12th in his tournament debut in 2022.
Schauffele and the rest of the field will be looking to dethrone last year's Valspar Championship winner, Taylor Moore, who opened at +8000 odds to defend his title this week. Moore has made the cut in all of his starts on Tour this season but is still looking for his first top-20 finish of the season after a T31 this past weekend at THE PLAYERS.
Sam Burns also returns to the Snake Pit this week at +1300 outright odds after opening at +1200, and he should have some confidence going back this week as he has four top-12 finishes in five starts here, including back-to-back wins in 2021 and 2022.
Burns failed to three-peat last season as he finished in solo sixth place, five shots behind Moore. Burns enters off of a tie for 45th this past weekend at TPC Sawgrass, but he does have four top-10 finishes in seven starts in 2024 on Tour.

Justin Thomas tied with Burns for the second-shortest outright odds at open at +1200 at bet365 but has since drifted to +1500. The Alabama product enters well rested after missing the cut at THE PLAYERS, which means he has missed the cut in two of his last three starts. However, when he hasn't missed the cut, Thomas has top-12 finishes in all four of his other starts this season, highlighted by a tie for third at The American Express.
This will be Thomas's seventh appearance at Innisbrook, and he has five top-18 finishes here in his career, including a tie for third in 2022.
His close friend Jordan Spieth is the fourth and final golfer with odds of 20-1 or shorter to win this week. He opened at +1400 odds to win at the Snake Pit but has also drifted to +1900 as of Tuesday afternoon. Spieth contended here last year as he tied for third, and like Thomas, he is also coming off of a missed cut at THE PLAYERS. Spieth has made six starts at Copperhead so far, including his win in a three-man playoff here in 2015.
The other golfers in the field with outright odds shorter than 30-1 at bet365 on Tuesday afternoon include:
- Brian Harman (+2200)
- Sungjae Im (+2700)
Some other notables in the field this week and their outright odds include Tony Finau (+3000), Cameron Young (+3000), Min Woo Lee (+3800), Nick Taylor (+3800), Adam Hadwin (+4300) and Adam Schenk (+6500).
Valspar Championship Course Preview: Innisbrook Resort
Innisbrook Resort (Copperhead Course) is a 7,340-yard par 71 that features Poa Trivialis overseeded greens. The course just north of Tampa was designed by Larry Packard in the early 1970s and puts a premium on positioning off the tee. The course features narrow fairways whose angles players must manage before reaching difficult green complexes.
The Copperhead Course is known for its famous three-hole stretch of 16, 17 and 18 known as the Snake Pit. The 16th hole is a 460-yard par four dogleg right into an elevated green with trouble lurking on both sides of the fairway nicknamed Moccasin. The 17th hole is a 215-yard par three nicknamed Rattler. The finishing 18th hole is a 445-yard par four with bunkers on each side of the fairway nicknamed Copperhead.
The rough was grown out from its usual three inches of Ryegrass overseed last year to 3.75 inches, and the rough remains longer again for this year's Valspar Championship. Cool, wet weather has been optimal for the Ryegrass rough's growth, and the rough will remain closer to play around the greens as the collars are 21 inches, which is decreased from its historical 72-inch length for the second consecutive year.
