The PGA TOUR heads to New Orleans this week for Zurich Classic, which is the only team event on the schedule.
Various players have paired up with their best friends, Ryder Cup rivals and fellow countrymen. And then there's Ryan Palmer, who has found the best player in the field (per usual) as his teammate for the competition.
The format will be four-ball for two rounds — better known as best ball at your local municipal course — and foursomes for two rounds, which is better known as alternate shot.
The biggest liability for BetMGM is the pairing of Davis Riley and Will Zalatoris. Riley is a rookie on tour and Zalatoris is in his second season. They're getting 7.3% of the tickets and 7.3% of the total handle. Their odds have shifted from +4000 at the beginning of the week to +3300 currently at BetMGM.
Two best friends on tour both enjoying good seasons — Talor Gooch and Max Homa — have paired up and sit as the second-biggest liability at BetMGM. They account for 6.4% of the bets and 6.4% of the money.
There will be no surprise that Palmer and Scottie Scheffler are another massive liability this week. Scheffler is the hottest player on tour, with four wins in his last seven starts and Palmer has already won this event. They're getting 9.4% of the tickets — the highest at BetMGM — and account for 10.9% of the handle.
They're also a massive first-round leader liability for BetMGM at 33.1 percent.
The superstar tandem of Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa is also getting plenty of love. They account for 11.8% of the handle at BetMGM, which is the most of any pairing.
Sam Burns and Billy Horschel make up another team to keep an eye on. They're currently getting 10% of the money at BetMGM.
Team golf should make fora very interesting watch at the Zurich Classic.
