Life hasn't been kind to Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler lately.

On Tuesday night, he got shelled by the San Diego Padres, pushing his spendthrift boys in blue to the brink of postseason elimination. And earlier that day, his agent informed the media that Buehler had a $100,000 watch stolen off his wrist while attending the horse races at Santa Anita Park with his wife McKenzie on Sept. 28.

"While walking from the paddock to their seats, Walker was unknowingly the victim of a snatch and grab robbery of his watch," Buehler's agency said in a statement. "The incident was reported to police and is currently under investigation. We are grateful Walker and McKenzie were not harmed and Walker is focused on the playoffs.”

Buehler is a Lexington, Kentucky, native and longtime racing fan who owned a small share of 2020 Horse of the Year Authentic, Bloodhorse reported. According to a statement released by the Arcadia Police Department, Buehler was one of three victims targeted by "different, organized groups of people whose sole purpose was to steal high-end watches through distractions and utilizing the large crowds at the event to create confusion."

On the day in question, Santa Anita played host to 21,812 patrons and the California Crown, a scintillating Breeders' Cup prep that was won by Subsanador.

While most of the suspects remain at large, one was apprehended on race day.
