Arcangelo's 2023 Belmont Stakes win was also historic. The horse is trained by Jena Antonucci, who became the first female trainer to win the Triple Crown race.
After the race, Antonucci said she didn't "have the words" to describe the feeling and the win, but did call Arcangelo a "true gift" and a "blessing," saying he has the "heart of a champion."
Antonucci also had a message for those watching: "Never give up. And if you can't find a seat at the table, make your own table. And build your team, and never give up. You are seen. People see you. Just keep working your butt off."
