Panther City Lacrosse Club.

It's only the third week in the National Lacrosse League, yet we already have a pair of rematches of Week 2 games to start the weekend.

The Vancouver Warriors will once again face the Calgary Roughnecks, and the Las Vegas Desert Dogs will host the Panther City Lacrosse Club in the team’s inaugural home game on Friday night.

So far this season, my NLL picks have gone 6-2, and we’re hoping to keep the momentum going with a bet in the Las Vegas-Panther City game.

Last week's matchup saw Panther City win and cover as 1.5-point favorites, 13-11. The total also comfortably went over 21.5 before the fourth quarter —though the game to a screeching halt after that.

This week, Panther City enters the matchup as 1.5-point favorites once again, but the total is set at 23.5.

Despite the loss, the Desert Dogs managed to go toe-to-toe with Panther City in the first half, securing a 7-7 tie going into halftime.

Shawn Williams' squad's debut wasn't perfect, but there were plenty of bright spots, particularly Landon Kells, who entered late in the game in relief of Joel Watson. Kells made 12 saves and avoided giving up a goal during his 15-minute stretch, which could lead to him getting the nod on Friday night.

Las Vegas also found success on offense thanks to four-point performances from Rob Hellyer, Jacob Ruest, Jon Phillips and John Wagner. The offense looked rather comfortable despite missing forwards Charlie Bertrand, Marshal King and Zack Greer.

While Panther City's six-point second half proved to be too much to overcome, Las Vegas played it well enough to warrant a tighter line for the rematch. Instead, sportsbooks like Caesars have priced Las Vegas at +145 on the moneyline for Round 2.

Given the reinforcements Las Vegas will be getting on offense, a potential upgrade at goaltender and a successful first outing against Panther City, I think the Desert Dogs are certainly live to pick up the franchise's first win on Friday.

You can currently bet Las Vegas +1.5 at only -105, but I think there's more value in backing them on the moneyline at +145.

Pick: Las Vegas ML +145 (Play to +130)
