The Maryland Whipsnakes host the Boston Cannons in Maryland’s second game of the weekend. Boston is a 1.5-point favorite and the total is 25.5 at most sportsbooks. Let’s take a look at how I’m betting this Eastern Conference rematch.

Keep an Eye Out for Live Bets
The Cannons will likely outlast the Whipsnakes since Maryland's on a tail-end of a back-to-back, but I don’t think there’s enough value on their pre-game odds right now.
The better way to bet Boston — who have been prone to slow starts — is to wait to see if Maryland’s able to carry some positive momentum from Saturday.
Instead, I’ll be looking to live bet Boston at a more favorable price if the Whipsnakes are able to score a few goals right off the bat. We’ve seen almost every home team run out of gas in their second game of a doubleheader weekend and I’d expect the same to happen to Maryland, even if it starts off strong.
I’m also not touching the total of 25.5 either. The first meeting between these teams stayed under that mark, but given these teams ability to shoot from beyond the arc and propensity to push in transition, this is a sharp total in my opinion. Maryland also has a handful of offensive weapons that did not suit up when these teams last met.
Kavanagh and Campbell Hold Value
Instead of the totals, I’m targeting the props of two Boston players.
Pat Kavanagh gets his second career start on attack this weekend and while he was held to just one point last week, he had a career-high 27 touches. The younger Kavanagh had success against the Whipsnakes' defense when these teams last played, recording two goals and an assist. Those opportunities should once again be there and the matchup is ripe for Kavanagh to go over 1.5 points at -120 on BetMGM.
I’m also targeting Matt Campbell to have success shooting beyond the arc. Campbell is currently tied for the most two-point goals in the league with five so far this season. He’s also had a two-point goal in half of his games in 2024. Yet, his odds of +470 on FanDuel imply his probability of scoring one on Sunday is less than 18%. These odds are too long for a player who has 15 two-point shots this season and is shooting 33% from beyond the arc.
