Conor McGregor’s self-proclaimed “greatest comeback of all time” has a return date as the legendary UFC fighter announced he’ll take on Michael Chandler June 29 in Las Vegas. While the UFC has not confirmed the announcement, the match is expected to take place during UFC’s International Fight Week, according to McGregor.
This is the first time either fighter will complete as middleweights. The initial line at DraftKings has him installed at -115 to win while Chandler’s at -105.
This marks “The Notorious” McGregor’s first match in just under three years. He’s 22-6-0 in his career, but hasn’t fought since losing to Dustin Poirier on July 10, 2021 in which he suffered a horrific broken leg. He’s also coming back from a lengthy suspension for an unclear drug test. He's 1-3 in his past four fights.
Meanwhile Chandler is 23-8-0 overall, but hasn’t fought since losing to Poirier on Nov. 12, 2022. Chandler is just 2-3 in his short UFC career. McGregor mocked the expected weight limit for the match, but Chandler responded in kind with a pointed message on social media.
